Who Needs Proof?
68
As a Christian I do not need tangible proof to accept the Bible as the Word of God. As Christians we walk by faith, an other-worldly stride that this present world does not understand.
I was blessed to have been raised in a Christian home and to accept Christ at an early age. For decades now I have known Him as my Savior. Never once has He let me down. Never once has He broken a promise. Never once has He turned His back on me, or given up on me although I have turned my back on Him time and time again. Never once has He not been everything His Word claims. He is God, and I have no need of physical proof. My proof lies in my faith.
It always amazes me how that people who really don't know not what Christianity is about are always the first ones to argue for its foolishness. Just go a Christian forum. The ones that know the least are the ones that talk the most not realizing that their ignorance is showing.(See my hub Are Christian Forums a Blessing or a Curse http://lifegate.hubpages.com/hub/Are-Christian-Forums-a-Blessing-or-a-Curse).
God is bigger than the physical, material world that we can see and handle. One needs to get on a different path to understand--the path of faith. I hear people say, "Well, you just use Jesus for a crutch." I should say so! I depend on Him for my very existence. I need Him at every moment. Does that make me weak? Who cares? In my weakness His strength is perfected.
The proof of a risen Savior is found in the life of faith. When I follow God's direction and seek to please Him out of a true heart of love and I see the blessing He has promised, I see reality. I walk with Him. I talk with Him. I serve Him. I worship Him--all out of a spirit of faith. I am not walking with an imaginary friend. I am not talking to the air. I am serving and worshiping a real, living person who has revealed Himself to me in Spirit. No, I do not see Him with my eyes, but that does not mean He does not exist. I meet Him on the path of faith.
Unless You have been there, you will not understand, but there is more to life than what we are aware of through our five senses. For those of us who are Christians we need no tangible proof. For those who choose not to consider that there is more to life, no proof is ever enough.
God is God no matter what anyone may think!
The following videos offer much to think about--The factual evidence for Noah's Ark is brought to light. The ancient cities of Sodom and Gomorrah are examined and found to be burned with brimstone. The Red Sea crossing of the Children of Israel likewise is backed with facts that cannot be disputed. I hope that for us who need no proof these videos will strengthen and encourage your faith. For those who scoff, well like I said, no proof is ever enough. I just hope that maybe you will consider some things with an open mind. If you seek Him, you will find Him.

Stunning evidence of the truth in the bible, thank you for posting it, the three videos are very powerful proof.
John
Very nice. Good testimony.
Yeah, who needs proof!?
Proof is a reliance on the physical and that's what God has been wanting us to get away from. No graven images, because a physical likeness is a lie. No proof of miracles, because you need faith first; and once you have faith, proof is inconsequential.
Keep spreading the word.
lifegate: Thank you ofr this inspiring hub.
For those who say that they need and require proof that God is God and that He is alive and well and real. I have a ton of proof to share with them.
.HELLO YOUNG MAN,
GREAT 'FOOD FOR THOUGHT!
KEEP THEM COMING FOR MANY LOSS AND DYING SOULS NEED To LEARN HEAR BELIEVE THE TRUTH! WELL RESEARCH WELL WRITTEN GOOD JOB ! SIR
I'm like you I have seen enough of God's activity in my own life I really don't need hard physical evidence although I must say there is so much of it around us. Creation itself testifies of His existence and all will be without excuse one day because of this very simple and understandable evidence. It seems like the more my faith grows the more I am able to see the physical evidences of God in His created world. It is getting increasingly more difficult for science to refute a designer explanation to the cosmos. I watch a lot of PBS science documentaries which are majorly secular but the material they present all screams creator God to me. In fact sometimes they use biblical language in their presentation and I'm not sure if they are even aware of it. Science actually is confirming to the truth rather than against it. It just depends on who is interpreting the facts and from what foundation is started with.
It is as your article reports God's reality can only be seen through the eyes of faith.
A thought provoking read.
Lifegate, I must say that other than reading your comments on hubs of like topic, I don't remember visiting you before. I voted this essay of truth and faith with interesting video and narration, U,U,A,I.
I have faith based on personal interaction with God in my life at critical times of spiritual need. Sometimes directly to me as I stood alone filled with doubt and my running conversation with God, only to find I was not and am not ever alone as well as prayers and questions are answered in the time frame of God, that in the time frame of my need the answer will come. I mean not what I may think of as the time of need but what God knows the actual time of actual need. So I work at "his will, will be done today, nothing more nothing less". If I ever succeed in "never" doubting that truth I will have actually reached the time of meat and potatoes and be weened from the glass of milk.
I have my brothers, John and Dave, here on this page that have always given me a hand up, even when I didn't ask them for it, I have faith that they did it by Divine Intervention. I remember John sending it to me and I read your portion and thought I don't need the proof that I thought may or may not be revealed in the videos and I didn't watch them. Then I found a box on my home page that I had not seen before and I pressed it, then this hub came up, I had seen it, but it just kept showing up after I zeroed the box, it just kept coming back and trusted sources like my Brother Dave were added and so on it went. Today I surrendered and took part in the whole of your message, I was watching the video of Noah's ark in a language I don't speak but heard it anyway, as one reached out and knocked on the wood I felt a jolt pass through me akin to bumping the elbow on the portion called the "funny bone" but the jolt was from my feet to my chest, only I have but one foot I felt both. It was faith re-enforcement and I continued through the videos.
On part 1 and two of the "Red Sea" were there portions that the narration went silent in mid sentence of description? I experienced several seemingly long silences tht stopped and started in mid sentence. The message was clear nonetheless for me.
I thank you for the message provided and all who took part in the following discussion. May you all be blessed and continue to deliver messages to bring doubters to faith,
Peace,
blessings,
And Love, Dusty

I know that a lot of christians don't need evidence and live by faith alone. For some this is due to a personal experience with God and this leads to this absolute conviction. I personally like some evidence that certain things did happen or that there is evidence to support the theories. While I can still believe in my own way I can adapt my belief on what is true for me. So I don't need to believe in a virgin birth or that there was a worldwide flood, but I can still be a Christian. Thanks for starting the debate lifegate.
